Do they look different depeneding on the time of day?

What do you think they are made from?

Would you guess that most are made from Trader Joe's bread bags? Mixed in are some foil ballons and plastic vegetable bags from the grocery store.

They are handwoven on upcycled fiber warps. None of the materials used in these suncatchers were first hand or even bought. All were found or gifted.

What makes something beautiful?

Do we ever see the same thing?

Can we make beauty from what's deemed "useless?"

Can we make beauty when we don't see the same thing?

My intention was that each time someone walked, ran, biked or meandered by, they would see something slightly different, depending upon the light and angle. My hope is that the piece brings beauty and a sense of possibility.

As with all my work, the bedrock rests on healing, and the immense gift of healing that creativity, beauty and art bring us.

Each suncatcher, after the exhibit, will be available for sale. If there is one that you love, please let me know so that I can save it for you. They look beautiful either in a window or up against the wall. You can always contact me to purchase one in advance here. Or email me at sam@thesamanthawilde.com
