She walks close to the moon, the song of the hawk guiding her. She is filling her basket with flowers. She is pregnant with possibility. But she has known loss. She has known despair. She has known pain. She is the one who is hurting and still says to life, as poet Ellen Bass writes in The Thing Is, “Then you hold life like a face/between your palms, a plain face/no charming smile, no violet eyes/and you say, yes, I will take you/I will love you, again.” I have long loved that poem—for decades and the determination and willingness of the heart, though broken, that is willing to love again. This is a tapestry of such resilient love. You will find those words of the poem on the back of the tapestry, a gentle and encouraging reminder of your own resilience and strength, of how we can find beauty in ashes.

When I first saw these wonderful creations, I immediately thought of them as perfect Christmas gifts for my two nieces who loved their Gramma Kay. Thank you for custom designing for them. They each sit in a prominent place in their homes.
I really appreciate the two custom grandmothers you created for my nieces based on colors their beloved Gramma Kay favored. They were adorable and made memorable Christmas gifts.
I love my scarf! The colors are perfectly Me!😘
The design is exquisite and uniquely beautiful.
Wearing a piece of art feels very special, and knowing the artist, dear extraordinary Sam, also makes it more magical for I can “feel” the energetic qualities and prayers infused in the weaving!💜
I can’t take my eyes off this beautiful piece of art!
Sam created a wedding shower gift of dreams! She wove family history into a gorgeous useful and lush shawl for the bride, who brought it all the way to Europe and included it in her wedding celebrations. Sam was thoughtful and responsive as an artist and weaver, asking questions and offering options at each step of the process. I swear to goodness there is love woven directly into the artwork. I already have a new request for her.
