Fiber Animal Experience

$37.00

Come fall in love with these precious fiber animals! Time with fiber animals is described as genuinely therapeutic, nurturing, playful, relaxing, and unique. This is not a “petting zoo” kind of experience at all! Your hour at our little fiber farm will be an immersive experience. You can simply sit with the animals and commune with them or take a more active roll and feed, brush, pet and play with them.

Meditative, healing, connecting, fun and educational. That’s what you can plan for! You will have an hour at our little farm farm that ends with a visit to the weaving studio where you can see some of what happens with the animal fiber.

You’ll join us at our little farm in North Hadley, MA. Our fiber animals consist of one truly giant Giant Angora rabbit and three adorable and silly Pygora goats. Your fiber animal encounter lasts an hour and is good for 4 people. Larger groups please reach out directly to arrange. This experience is recommended for 5+. If you have younger children, please reach out.

Time with the animals is available most mornings at either 9 or 10 a.m. Other times by special arrangement. Once you register for a session, I will be in touch with to confirm your chosen date and time. You can put your requested date and time in the NOTES section.  Days and times are first come, first served, but your slot is confirmed once you have paid and booked on the calendar.

And don’t forget, these are animals so prepare for your farm visit with the right shoes and clothes you don’t mind have wool or animal on. The animals do best with calm and quiet encounters so this is not a high noise experience. Feel free to ask questions before your visit!

Loved my visit to the farm with my 8 year old granddaughter. Sam is a great educator who welcomed Gert warmly, encouraged her and showed her just what to do to feel comfortable in the farm environment and in the fiber art studio. The visit was excellent; Both Sam and the farm are gems. It was a unique experience, that I hope becomes more known in our greater community.

We loved our special time at this little farm, holding the bunny, patting the goats and seeing the studio. Sam made us feel welcome and answered all our many questions. We are coming back with friends!

What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon in August.
Sam‘s workshop was a first for me and I had no idea what to expect.
Sitting in a beautiful space, an inspiring meditation and wonderful people. Playing with colors and textures. Letting go of expectations. Mine!
    Creating. Growing. An extraordinary experience.
I was physically and emotionally drained when I got home that evening. But the “draining” was more of an “opening.”
    Releasing. Grateful.
So ready for the workshop in October.

This afternoon submersed in art-making and intuition felt like a cool bath after mowing the lawn in August. My brain felt free, my body felt fresh, and my heart felt comforted. I made a work that was honest and explorative. Sam provided everything I needed to be inspired and to create the artwork. This was a gift to myself but I think this would make a great gift for any person in your life who needs some space to be creative and nourish their art-making hunger.
