Find Yourself through Fiber and Fabric Collage

A workshop full of joy, play and exploration! Come into my studio and play with miles of fabric and yarn as we create together. This workshop begins with a guided and more introspective journey through story and idea and then blooms into a time of creative making. You do not need any experience to get a tremendous amount out of this workshop. No need to be “artistic” either! This is all about creative exploration, delight in the fabric and fiber, listening to yourself, intuitive making, and fun. Think of this as a little summer camp experience filled with childlike curiosity, wonder, delight in texture, color and pattern, and peaceful play.

You will leave the workshop with your own piece to treasure and discover.

August’s workshop theme is “Your Mandala.” You’ll be working on either a single piece or a book style piece. You can glue or learn some simple stitching for your creation.

October 18, 2-4:30 p.m. in Hadley, MA

This is an in-person experience only. Space is limited. Part of the joy of this experience is being in my beautiful weaving studio and having access to TONS of materials to work with. This is my own form of fiber and fabric collage anchored in my weaving and fiber art work that is spontaneously and intuitively created using a gorgeous form of heart-listening. I can’t wait to create with you!

This afternoon submersed in art-making and intuition felt like a cool bath after mowing the lawn in August. My brain felt free, my body felt fresh, and my heart felt comforted. I made a work that was honest and explorative. Sam provided everything I needed to be inspired and to create the artwork. This was a gift to myself but I think this would make a great gift for any person in your life who needs some space to be creative and nourish their art-making hunger.

What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon in August.
Sam‘s workshop was a first for me and I had no idea what to expect.
Sitting in a beautiful space, an inspiring meditation and wonderful people. Playing with colors and textures. Letting go of expectations. Mine!
    Creating. Growing. An extraordinary experience.
I was physically and emotionally drained when I got home that evening. But the “draining” was more of an “opening.”
    Releasing. Grateful.
So ready for the workshop in October.
